The Fundación Pensar. Planeta, Política, Persona, which also acts as the Global Cities Climate Pact Secretariat, has published its First Mexico City Pact Annual Report for 2011. The report is a synthesis of information on cities’ respective mitigation and adaptation activities.
The Mexico City Pact Art.4 "Register our emission inventories, comitments, climate mitigation and adaptation measures and actions in a measurable, reportable and verigiable (MRV) manner. With a view to launch and follow-up on our commitments, we will enter our climate actions in the carbonn Cities Climate Registry. Acknowledging our common but differentiated responsibilities in responding to climate change, we agree to make our actions transparent and provide regular information and data so that our efforts can be measured, reported and verified" addresses carbonn Cities Climate Registry as the global reporting platform to report their commitments, performance and actions.
As of November 2012, the number of Mexico City Pact Signatories reporting to the cCCR reached 49, a 40% increase from 2011. These reporting cities represent around 48% of the population of all Mexico City Pact Signatories, with an aggregate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of around 464 million tCO2 annually.
